Berlin’s underground pulse quickens as Hentai Kino, the enigmatic electronic dance music project, prepares to drop their fourth single, Heat Carrier, on the 27th of June, 2025. This latest release from the third wave of their sonic diary is a testament to the raw energy of club culture, capturing the thrill of stepping into a packed dance floor.
Heat Carrier channels the euphoria of losing yourself in the rhythm, where sweat-soaked moves spark a chain reaction among friends and fellow ravers. The track’s production is a masterclass in Hentai Kino‘s signature style: diva vocal chops slice through a sassy melody, evoking the queer, untamed spirit of Berlin’s underground dance scene. This single marks the fourth chapter in Hentai Kino‘s third wave of releases, a nine-track musical diary inspired by personal experiences between December 2024 and January 2025. Following the success of Encore Wonder, Emergency Mantra, and Joyride Overflow, Heat Carrier continues the project’s exploration of life’s highs and lows, from rediscovering wonder in the everyday to basking in moments of overflowing pleasure.
Since launching in 2021, Hentai Kino has carved a unique space in the electronic music world, blending the gritty pulse of Berlin’s club scene with the eccentric, boundary-pushing creativity of Japanese electronica. The project’s evolution is striking: the first wave brought pixelated anime eyes and spontaneous house energy, while the second wave dazzled with bold, contrasting artwork and catchy, dancefloor-ready melodies. Now, in its third wave, Hentai Kino unveils a striking yellow-and-purple logo and a more mature aesthetic, with sounds that flirt with experimental IDM while staying rooted in house. The diva vocal chops remain a hallmark, weaving through tracks.
